Insider Jeff Berner

Know When to Mix Business
For example, put a psychological "fire wall" between your job or career and your family life, and bring home a minimum amount of work from the office. Or, isolate your home office from your family rooms, and you won't be wolfing down supper and jumping away from the dinner table to hammer out another report, or to surf the Net.

In the same spirit, if you use the attention skills that come so naturally when you're navigating around on your computer screen to listen to your spouse or family or friends, you'd be amazed at how much happier your personal life can become. Likewise, bringing a sense of family spirit to your workplace can add an ease to the office.
