Sometimes I can find GinnyAnn's book discussion and sometimes I get some "made up" book "articles" using the same link. Gotta figure that out. Fuddies and Among Friends are no problem.

Occasionally I hit it when it is very slow and the pages are not moving. Perhaps they are working on it then or there is heavy traffic. I try back later and it is OK. So I dunno. Usually it is not too slow.

I tried saying " img src" but it made that box...:-)

Actually there are links right underneath the photos there. Just copy and paste the one starting

BTW...TA hasn't been slow for me at all.

Maybe I'm lucky and just get on at the right times.

I am finding this site v e r y v e r y S L O W. Is it just me? I keep the games open in a separate window and just keep refreshing the page to see changes. Everything else I try and do is here is too slow for comfort.

I got the graphics made for the photography and graphic groups and when I went to email them to Dan found that my email provider is down for maintainance - so shall try again after work which probably means we won't be able to play with them until Friday. Sorry.

It made an html tag out of w-o-r-k. Now that is stupid, LOL. Lots of tweaking still needed.

I agree, good idea, to have this practice discussion. I probably won't do the chat, but agree that will be useful also. I agree on the slowness. I think either they are working on the site, tweaking stuff, or they did not anticipate how much bandwidth TA discussions need. I respect everyone's wishes to go where they feel the most comfortable and what suits them the best. I tend to go all over the web, especially at times the NY Times and the Amazon blogs. This reminds me of work as we always had to brainstorm new software as the people who developed it and installed it didn't know much about it. So probably when it is all figured out I will lose interest.

Yep Margaret, this site needs a practice forum for sure LOL I really like the way easier format at Seniorocity...and all the perks they offer . I set up a chat room in chat so hopefully we all can meet in there and chit chat some. :)

And yes this site is as slow as molasses for sure...

This is a test with the img src code linking from pbase, putting .jpg after the address of the graphic.

haha - this site needs plenty of practice.

It is so weird. On the home page I click "see all discussions", then it looks as though the latest posts are shown. Then you realise they are all mixed up and not the latest at all. Of course it could be me loosing touch with how to understand these things.

I give up on the photos, unless any clear instructions appear. Some show up and some don't.

Senioricity is certainly a simpler and more effective format. The other thing is how slow this site can be - it reminds me of the old days when it used to be slow. Only difference it was worth persevering before because you knew where you were heading for. I kept clicking for speed yesterday and ended up with about 6 posts hiccuped together. 5 were deleted but I don't know who deleted them. All very mysterious.

Oiseau I read your post about setting up a chat time...so I made a room for us...let me know about a time frame.

I don't belong to photobucket but have many many thousands of graphics on a paid site Tripod. It would take me months of many hours to transfer them all to say the least.

I don't understand if you can link to a photo site, why you can't link with HTML to other sites that let you link anywhere else on the internet. :(

Janette (my girls) has been coaching me and seeing that I was a member of Photo Bucket and NEVER used the site she showed me how easy it was to use especially that there are FOUR choices of codes to use in order to post images YOUPEE

For linking from pbase, bring up the photo on the screen there and add .jpg after the name of the photo in your html.

So the photo was named "http://www.pbase.com/imacatmom/image/101210508" and I added ".jpg" to it.

This is the same way we do it at dpreview to link in a photo.

So to do a photo or graphic, I upload it to my photos here? Or link from pbase, I guess. And to put a link is that done in html as we used to do it or do you just put the link?

Guess the powers that be didn't want us using that group - it has now been deleted.

I do find it interesting that they are posting a whole lot of stuff that is under copyright.
